In steel, niobium is added as Ferro Niobium and finds its principal application in micro-alloyed steel products and stainless steel. The most important application of niobium is as an alloying element in “High Strength Low Alloy Steel (HSLA)”, used in building automobiles and high pressure gas transmission pipelines. Micro alloying with niobium enhances the strength of steel while still preserving its secondary properties like weldability, toughness and formability.
Niobium, used in amounts of below 0.1% is the most cost-effective and efficient method of achieving a balanced set of properties.
Niobium is added to:
Plates used for the manufacturing of Line Pipes
Hot Rolled Coils/Strips to produce Spiral welded pipes or Electric resistance welded pipes
Cold Rolled strips, used in the production of thin gauge car outer body panels.

Reinforcing Bars
Engineering Bars
