May 2011: Sideco and Ferro Tech form pipe and pipe component JV

Ferro Tech Trading has signed a JV with Italy based Sideco, S.p.A to cater to critical requirements of the Indian chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas industry.

The JV christened SiFTI, Sideco Ferro Tech India Pvt Ltd, is already operational through two offices in Mumbai and Gurgaon and is designed to cater to package requirements in pipes, fittings, flanges, valves and plates in all types of steel and special alloys.
SiFTI will meet the long time demand of major project owners who now have the liberty of looking at one or two main vendors to cater to their entire package needs without diluting the quality of inputs and thereby saving time and money.

Dr Enrico Norsa chairman of Sideco and SiFTI said "India is a priority market for our operations and through SiFTI we would be focused on giving quality services to all our existing and new customers not only for critical requirements but also for multiple product packages, which happens to be our specialty."

Mr Braja Mishra, Managing Director of Ferro Tech said that "Not only will SiFTI cater to Indian project requirements but would also be a channel for introducing quality Indian vendors in pipes, fittings, valves and steel material into a highly developed market internationally through Sideco’s overseas network thereby propagating a two way trade."He added that "The process of enlisting indigenous vendors for Sideco’s worldwide projects has started and identified channels are being contacted by our qualified techno commercial audit team."

Sideco has already been in business in India for the last over two decades and has an impressive clientele including ONGC, IOCL, Reliance Industries, Reliance refinery and GAIL to name a few and this JV will surely help them to reach out to their customers more effectively both in terms of cost and time.

Ferro Tech has been catering to oil & gas and other infrastructure requirements in addition to being the exclusive agent of global niobium giant CBMM for India and Russia.
